At Friar Lawrence’s cell, Friar Lawrence tries to calm down Romeo and remind him that marriage is for life he talks about how “These violent delights have violent ends,” this means that “These sudden joys have sudden endings. They burn up in victory like fire and gunpowder. When they meet, as in a kiss, they explode. Too much honey is delicious, but it makes you sick to your stomach.”(SparkNotes) Juliet runs in and even in the presents of a priest they cant stop showing there affection for each other. Friar Laurence marries them so they can move on to there honeymoon.

Act 2 Scene 5 Romeo and Juliet Summary
Juliet waits for the Nurse to return with a message from Romeo. When the Nurse comes back she starts to play games with her saying how her bones ache because how old she is and how difficult her life is. Finally after a while the Nurse gives in to tell Juliet quickly go to Friar Laurence’s cell where Romeo is waiting so they can get married.
Towards the end of the scene the Nurse says she will “fetch a ladder” for Romeo to climb up so the lovers can spend their wedding night together.
Act 2 Scene 4 Romeo and Juliet Summary
Mercutio and Benvolio still don’t know where Romeo is. Tybalt sends Romeo a message to put up his sword. Mercutio uses the opportunity to make fun of Tybalt he makes fun of his sword fighting skills. Romeo enters he is no longer depressed over Rosealine. They all start making fun of each other. Then the Nurse appears to meet with Romeo. The others thought she looked ridiculous and Mercutio couldn’t stop making fun of her, and saying rude things to her.
